“As a country that hosts
one of the largest forests in the world, Indonesia has decided to become part
of the solution,”
Indonesia committed
unconditionally to reducing its emissions by almost a third ( 29 percent ) from
a 2030 business-as-usual scenario, or by up to 41 percent if certain
international assistance was made
available.
Indonesia highlighted
peatland restoration and sustainable land-use management, along with
accelerated renewable energy development, as its main vehicles for progress
toward significant emissions cuts.
To realize her vision of
“guiding the nation to transform into a low-carbon developer” as a signatory to
the Paris Agreement, Indonesia needs to ensure that there is strong national

Philip Berrigan, emerged as
leaders of the radical anti-war movement in the 1960s.
The Catonsville Nine, as
they came to be known,
Her endorsement led to the
publication of Berrigan's first book of poetry, "Time Without
Number," which won the Lamont Poetry Prize in 1957.
he and his brother founded
the Catholic Peace Fellowship, which helped organize protests against US
involvement in Vietnam.
Much later, while visiting
Paris in 1963 on a teaching sabbatical from LeMoyne College
Berrigan met French Jesuits
who spoke of the dire situation in Indochina.
Berrigan traveled to North
Vietnam in 1968 and returned with three American prisoners of war who were being
released as a goodwill gesture.
While he was teaching at
Cornell University, Berrigan's brother asked him to join a group of activists
for the Catonsville demonstration.
Philip Berrigan was at the
time awaiting sentencing for a 1967 protest in Baltimore during which
demonstrators poured blood on draft records.
Providing unhealthy food means that the school is
supporting and profiting from making children unhealthy and obese. This is
usually seen as wrong for a number of reasons; their individual health, moral
and ethical reasons, the cost of health care and loss of productivity due to
poor health and fitness etc. I personally think though that without choice it
makes kids sneaky and try to hide things - very unhealthy to do with food. Also
shouldn't they be able to exercise self control and a balanced lifestyle? This
is why I think that a small number of treats or just on certain days, like
chips are on sale on wednesdays or something is the best approach.
